Check out of your accommodation this morning after breakfast and head to Kalpa. Kalpa, at 2670 metres above sea level, is Kinnaur’s district headquarters and was previously Lord Dalhousie’s favourite hideaway. When you arrive in Kalpa, check into your hotel. In the 500 years since Kalpa was named as Chini, little has changed. According to legend, Lord Dalhousie would ride his horse here when he needed a respite from his rigorous routine in Shimla. A 79-foot rock structure that resembles a Shivlinga stands on the side of Kalpa and can be seen with the naked eye on a bright day. Rest for a bit in your hotel after lunch.
